About Us
The Central Australian Aboriginal Alcohol Programme Unit (CAAAPU) operates a 30 bed residential alcohol and other drug rehabilitation facility in Alice Springs. We are dedicated to offering culturally sensitive and comprehensive support to Aboriginal people. CAAAPU provides a pathway to recovery and independence through tailored rehabilitation programmes.
As a local Indigenous organisation we are a centre for empowerment and a place of health and healing for Aboriginal people. CAAAPU is situated 7 minutes from town on a large, beautifully landscaped property. We have welcoming and professional staff and a positive workplace culture.
About the Opportunity
Casual (AOD) Care Workers - Mens Program
This is a casual position supporting the 24hr residential program. We have day, afternoon and night shifts available over a 7 day cycle.
The AOD Care Worker provides care and assistance to CAAAPU clients and contributes to the overall maintenance of a healthy, safe and equitable environment and supports the other AOD Case and Care Workers with the treatment program. This position is a backfill for several shifts which include day, evening and nights and will be added to our casual workforce list.

About You
The Ideal candidate will have experience in human services, a positive outlook and the ability to engage effectively with our client group. You will need a current First Aid Certificate, Working with Children Check, a valid drivers license and a recent Police Clearance. Holding a Certificate IV in Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) is highly desirable and/or a Certificate III in Community Services will be considered an advantage.
Flexibility, empathy, and cultural sensitivity are essential qualities for success in this role. You will need to be able to work both independently and as part of our team.
